When I first entered the recruitment field in 1996, the landscape was vastly different.
There were no video calls, no Zoom interviews—we had to get on a plane and visit executive candidates in person. Before 9/11, we used to joke that we had an office in every Red Carpet Club in the nation. It was a time when building relationships meant shaking hands and sitting across from someone, not just connecting on LinkedIn.
But even then, I saw the potential for technology to transform our industry. That’s why I launched execsearch.com—the first executive search website—because I believed that the future of recruitment would be driven by innovation.
My career has always been about staying ahead of the curve, whether it was navigating the technological shifts of the early internet era or working at Google X to build pioneering quantum and AI teams, along with a world-class PhD Residency Program. These experiences have taught me that while technology evolves, the core of recruitment—understanding and connecting with people—remains the same.
What is The Talent Ingenuity Company?
After decades in the industry, I partnered with Jason Miller to create The Talent Ingenuity Company—not a recruitment firm, but something much more. Our mission is to bring AI and automation to People and Talent teams, VC/PE firms, and executive search and recruiting agencies. We’re focused on crushing inefficiency and eliminating mundane tasks, freeing up professionals to focus on what truly matters: building meaningful relationships, fostering innovation, and driving organizational success.
We’re not just leveraging technology; we’re revolutionizing how teams operate, reducing friction points, and opening up windows of data they didn’t have access to before. We’ve already been stealthily building solutions for a few companies, and the positive feedback has been through the roof. In fact, we’ve had to keep turning down full-time offers just to stay focused on our mission!
Looking Forward
As we look to the future, there’s so much to be excited about. The challenges of today’s job market—whether it’s adapting to hybrid work, closing the skills gap, or driving diversity and inclusion—are also opportunities to innovate. We’re eager to work with amazing HR and talent professionals who share our passion for building better, more resilient organizations.
In a world that’s constantly changing, our goal is to help companies not just keep up but lead the way in creating workplaces where both people and businesses can thrive.
Here’s to the future of talent management—technologically efficient and deeply human.
